We guarantee that representations of our merchandise are as accurate as we and select experts in the trade can provide. We stress the necessity of querying any item as thoroughly as possible prior to making a purchase decision. We will happily provide more details and images on request.

Should, however, a purchased item prove substantially different than indicated on this site and in further information, we will arrange its return and client refund, less shipping, handling, and insurance charges, and bank fees.

Returns are given the same priority as are purchases. No one will be made to wait unnecessarily.

Your personally identifiable information is not shared, sold, leased, or otherwise accessible to others. Information collected on this site is restricted to the sales and delivery process, and to your contact information as provided on our email contact form. Your shipping information remains in our secure store for current and future shipments only, and will be removed at your request. Your name and email address, as provided on our contact form, is not saved unless you so request.

Due to increasing fraudulent activity, Hare's, Ltd. no longer accepts credit card payments.  

Cookies are used on this site as part of the shopping process. They are used to keep track of your shopping cart contents. They expire when you leave the site. For added peace of mind, you can delete these expired cookies from your browser once your visit has ended. If you do not accept cookies from this site, you cannot purchase online.

Overview:

Hare's, Ltd. buys and sells antiques. Antiques are items that had been made many decades ago, and are expected to show signs of wear, use, fading, peeling, warping, etc. Items of remarkably shiny, “new” appearance may not be what they seem!  Items with repair, restoration, damages or flaws are noted, and details provided.  We avoid items possessed of excessive repair or restoration. Further information is available on request. We try to describe condition thoroughly. Clients should contact us with queries about condition, markings, flaws, damages, or repairs; prior to making a purchase. We are happy to answer queries and to remit as many detailed images as our clients feel necessary in order to make a purchase decision.
However, if the item received is not as described on site and in further inquiries, we will arrange item return.

Payment:

Hare's, Ltd. accepts bank-to-bank wire transfer payments for orders exceeding $1000.00 USD. Orders totalling fewer than $1000.00 USD may be paid via bank draft in US funds.  Drafts drawn on non-US currencies will be returned, but merchandise will be placed on "hold" for a reasonable period to allow client to replace that draft with one drawn in USD.  Personal checks are generally not accepted.  Corporate checks may be accepted, please email or telephone to discuss this possibility.  Bear in mind that all draft and check payments will be fully investigated and verified before merchandise is released for shipment.  Verification may take from several days to a month-or longer.  

Shipping:

Hare's, Ltd. is prepared to ship to those countries allowed under U.S. Customs, the U.S. Dept. of Treasury, and U.S. Postal regulations. Certain countries and persons are prohibited.  You may review these regulations on the respective web-sites.  We reserve the right to refuse shipment to places that our experience shows are questionable, although they may not be flagged by the above organisations.  Shipping charges are based on costs of shipping by method selected.  A nominal charge is imposed for materials and handling.  Hare's, Ltd. wishes all items a safe journey to their destinations, thus packaging is a meticulous process using a tested combination of shock-absorbing materials. All shipments are insured to the purchase price.

Returns:

We understand that there may have been questions unasked or unanswered; unhappiness results and a return is necessary. Thus, fourteen days from item receipt are allotted for clients to establish satisfaction/dissatisfaction with purchases. If we are not notified within fourteen days, please contact us anyway to discuss alternative arrangements. Items must be returned in "as purchased" condition for full refund less transactional costs. We will be as flexible toward our clients as reasonably possible. We will provide our best efforts toward fairness, and ask our clients to be just with us. Please telephone or email with item# or order# within fourteen days of receipt. Include a brief description of need for return, so we can record it in the item files. We will arrange speedy return. Client refund, less shipping costs, handling charges, tax, VAT, tariffs and bank fees will be made immediately on receipt of items returned in 'as sold' condition. For refund of tax or VAT, client must file with the appropriate office.

Returns are as important as are new sales. No one will be made to wait for return arrangements or refund.

Tax Charges:

For New York State orders, New York sales tax is imposed, plus county and municipal sales tax rate.   NYS antiques dealers must provide a valid resale certificate to avoid paying sales tax.  For sales outside the United States, all applicable VAT, taxes, and fees and tariffs related to purchase and import (customs) are the client’s responsibility.

Our intent is to make your visit as smooth as possible. There should be no difficulties traversing these pages. If you experience any problems, please fill in our request form to notify us of your difficulties.

Delivery Schedule
:

We will normally send your order to you 2-4 business days after receipt of payment. For orders paid by personal or corporate check, shipment is delayed until final clearance by both issuing bank and our bank.

Credit Card Security:

Due to increasing credit card fraud, and the failure of our payment gateway and merchant accounts to comply with PCI DSS requirements, Hare's, Ltd. no longer accepts credit card payments.  Please read the Feature section for details.
